Food Committee

Every fourth Wednesday at 1pm

Access to nutritious food, is a key social determinant of health that has a direct impact on an individual’s wellbeing (Ranges of food security, see Table 1).  Individuals who cannot afford or obtain quality food are at risk of developing chronic illnesses or exacerbating illnesses they may already have. Additionally, food insecurity impacts the long-term economic well-being of individuals as well as the vitality of communities.

The Northern Kentucky Safety Net Alliance is committed to supporting partner organizations who work to combat food insecurity in our region.  We achieve this through the work of the Food Committee.  The Food committee is focused on four key areas. These areas are food access, food supply, policy, and service coordination (link to scope of work).

The Food Committee meets monthly.  If you are interested in working to address food insecurity from a regional lens email nkysafetynet@gmail.com
